Magazine Remake
Working on the magazine spread remake was very interesting. To start it off, I couldn't figure out the scanner at first, I had to do a handful of photoshop, and I didn't have the exact font I needed. With the photoshop, I had accidentally scanned my spread with one of the top corners of a page was folded over and I did my best to edit it out.
Regardless of obstacles, I am still proud of what I did. I selected the spread based off of the colors and the overall aesthetic feel of it.

It was a process to figure out the correct spacing between lines, letters, words, etc. I ended up using four layers in the remake of the spread: original scan, a photoshopped version of the scan, photos and other icons (such as arrows and stars), and text. The one thing I would change, if I were to select the biggest issue, it would be the corner of the page that was accidentally turned over when I had scanned it. For a first try at photoshop, I like it overall.
I really enjoyed this project and I think it was very helpful in learning about a lot of different elements in layout.
Book Series
I'm not entirely sure of the books I want to do for this project yet. I’ve been considering multiple series, but I’m still not certain. One of the ones I’d love to do is the Sunrise series by Karen Kingsbury, (the three books I’d select are titled sunrise, summer, and sunset—the third book in the series is titled someday, but I feel like the nature theme would work better with the three listed. I think this project will be very useful since I want to be an editor (probably a book editor or something similar). The chapter titles might be challenging to find, but I think the body text will be a serifs font, the margins are about a medium size, and the page numbers/author and book title will be smaller than the body text.
